It's been almost ten years since I visited Vicenza with my cousins. We stayed at this cozy apartment and my favourite thing was having downtime on the balcony and hearing people cooking and listening to music in the surrounding apartments.
Ninety Bears Arts Collective: Pride Week
It's been almost one year since the Ninety Bears Arts Collective came out of hibernation to reunite and create fun things together... officially.
Our first big project was for Pride Week 2015 in Edmonton. Through Green Window City, artists were paired with businesses on Whyte Avenue to create their window display for Pride Week using reused materials. Our collective was paired with The Silk Road, a store that sells spices. We ended up using turmeric, grass, beets, blackberries, and some other spices to naturally dye fabric scraps and canvases the colors of the rainbow. With the dyed fabric we made fabric plants in each color. Check out these photos of each of them (excluding the violet plant). They were photographed by fellow Ninety Bear, Hannah.
Below are photos that I took of the installation of the plants in their shop front.
This was so much fun to create together, and a great way to make a first step into the Edmonton arts community as a collective.
Épiphanie - The Workshop
In February I attended a wedding photography workshop hosted by a friend from school, Justine from Milton Photography. On day one we had a beautiful set of details to shoot and day two we worked with two beautiful couples. It was a huge learning experience as I have never directed poses or photographed people in a setting like this one. We had a few minutes of one-on-one time with each couple to have a chance to pose them ourselves and I felt so out of my comfort zone, especially in a room full of much more experienced photographers! Directing poses is something I need to work on. I also got to try a couple other lenses out and know which one will be my next purchase. I have only ever used the kit lens on my Nikon D90 and I am so ready for an upgrade! Here are some photos from the wonderful workshop:

Just a few months ago I spent a week visiting my brother in Stockholm. We went on a lot of walks and I absolutely fell in love with the neighbourhoods around his apartment. Here are a few details..
